Having served diligently with commitment, tenacity and loyalty, many of our staff members have risen through the ranks and now are the leaders driving several companies within the Group to greater heights.

As a Group, we believe in giving people opportunity, space to create and room for career growth. It is on this principle that we have seen majority of our staff grow from junior roles to the senior management team. Here is a sample of such individuals:

1. Phiona Nabisere: Phiona has been with Protea Hotel for over 10 years. Joining us as a receptionist, she held on steadfast and worked earnestly. She has just been promoted to the position of Operations Manager at Protea Hotel Kampala. Phionah is a complete leader who loves a new challenge, a unifier and a strategic thinker. She has potential to go all the way. The Group is blessed to have her on the team.
2. Caroline Namuddu: Caroline Joined Protea Hotel Kampala as a waitress 10 years ago and was recently promoted to the position of Food and Beverages Manager at the hotel. She has served with passion and dedication over the years. Caroline has developed a multitude of skills which have positioned her as a dependable leader within the Group. She loves service, developing her people and sticking to systems.
3. Peter Jalamu: Peter was recently promoted to the position of Maintenance Manager at Protea Hotel Kampala. Joining us as a junior maintenance staff, he has worked his way up through selfless work, passion, love for work and application. Peter’s journey to leadership will only get brighter and more fascinating. We are proud of him.
4. Grace Akello: Grace joined Protea Hotel Kampala as a junior housekeeping staff. She was there when the hotel opened in 2007. Today, she is the Senior House Keeping Manager. Grace’s eye for cleanliness, attention to detail, pragmatism and love for her work have kept her growing, and the sky isn’t the limit.
