Patrick Bitature

Founder and Chairman

Patrick founded Simba Telecom in 1998. When he was the CEO of Simba Telecom he was voted one of the Most Respected East African CEOs by PWC. In 2011, he was awarded East African Emerging Entrepreneur by Ernst & Young. Patrick is the Chairman of Private Sector Foundation Uganda and is the Chairman of Umeme (national power distributor), as well as holding other directorships. He is the Honorary Consul for Australia in Uganda.

Dr. Nataliey Bitature

Board Member

Dr Nataliey is a director and Chief of Staff at The Simba Group of Companies. In this capacity, Nataliey oversees operations, impact and partnerships across the Simba Group within East Africa. Dr Nataliey is also the founder of Musana Carts, a social enterprise building solar-powered street food vending carts and HER a mentorship platform for young African women. She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Management and Education Studies at Keele University from 2010 to 2013. She later joined the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) in 2014 for the Emerging Leaders Programme which lasted four months and subsequently obtained a Master’s in Social Entrepreneurship at Hult International Business School (from 2015 – 2016). In January 2020 she received an Honorary Doctorate from Keele University for her inspiring leadership and work to empower young women.

Mr. Kadoma Edison

Board Member

Edison is an expert in communications, sales and marketing. He is presently the Marketing and Public Relations Manager for the Mountains of the Moon University. He has had an extensive career in marketing and teaching. Mr. Kadoma Edison started as a Temporary Teacher at Nyakasura School in 1983 and has since then worked at The Fort Portal Institute of Commerce, New Vision, Uganda Management Institute (UMI), Dairy Corporation Ltd, Sameer Agriculture & Livestock Ltd, Alpha Dairy Products (U) Ltd, Makerere University and Uganda Air Cargo Corporation.

Sanjeev Debipersad

Board Member

Sanjeev is AGRA’s Director of Programs and Innovation with more than a decade of banking and fund management experience covering strategy development, credit portfolio management and risk management. Prior to this, he was the Head of Risk for SunFunder and has been instrumental in crafting their emerging markets’ risk appetite in renewable energy. In 2010, he was seconded by the Standard Bank Group of South Africa as the Director of Credit in the Retail and Business Banking Kenyan franchise. Sanjeev also has a rich history in deal origination, structuring and distribution in the pan African context. He has a BSc in Electronic Engineering and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Natal. He also has an MBL at the University of South Africa with a specialization in Corporate Finance.

Stuart Cook

Stuart has had repeated success, in a career spanning 27 years in the hospitality industry, in driving effective oversight of hotel development and operations, revolving around General Management, construction project management, interior design, value engineering, and branding. Proven expertise in strategy formulation and policy implementation to stimulate high levels of brand integrity, quality, and customer service, aimed at accentuating long-term hotel success for all stakeholders. Innate ability to leverage leadership talents and direct cross-functional team activities, manage complex portfolios, and implement effective change management initiatives. As a result of his success, he has been the recipient of the World Luxury Hotel Awards in different categories from 2010 to 2013

Prof. Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase

Board Member

Prof. Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase (PhD) is a Chartered Certified Accountant as well as a Certified Public Accountant. He received his PhD in Auditing from The University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 2013. Prof. Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase started out as an Accounts Assistant – Sapoba Bookshop Press Katwe, Kampala (1983-1986) and has since then worked as a Lecturer (Business Finance and Accounting) at Uganda Management Institute (Formerly, IPA), Senior Financial Analyst at Uganda Development Bank, a Visiting Lecturer in Finance, Auditing and Accounting at the Islamic University in Mbale, the General Manager of First Insurance Co. Ltd, an Associated Consultant at Skill consulting Ltd / S.K Sejjaaka & Co (CPAs), a Visiting Lecturer in Finance, Auditing and Accounting at Kampala International University, a Partner at Sejjaaka, Kaawaase & Co. Certified Public Accountants, and a Senior Lecturer for Finance, Accounting and Auditing for Undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Makerere University Business School in Kampala.

Branko Abonyo Ng’inja

Branko is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in Senior Executive leadership roles, with a Supply Chain bias. He has over 20 years of experience in building and leading Supply Chain initiatives and teams across East Africa and in developing Supply Chain solutions in support of FMCG and Telecom Multinational and Regional Organizations within the Region. He currently holds the role of Chief Operating Officer for the Siginon Group and also acts as the Chairman of the Executive Committee for Mahathi Infra Uganda Limited. Prior to this he was the Managing Director for Engie Energy Access – Kenya. He has also held Executive roles with Freight Forwarders Kenya, Bollore Transport and Logistics – Tanzania and Uganda (where he doubled as the MD Havas Media, Uganda) and DHL Supply Chain Kenya and Central Africa. He is passionate about developing and leading teams to achieve exemplary performance in all they do while holding themselves and the environment they operate in, in high esteem. Branko holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Leicester

Bridget Nambooze Musumba

Company secretary

Bridget Nambooze is the company secretary. She was the Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs at General Machinery Group of Companies including; Victoria Motors Limited, Victoria Equipment Ltd, Victoria Engineering and Pumps Limited, Mercantile Car Rentals Ltd, and Sustech Ltd. Bridget previously worked as a senior associate at Katende Ssempebwa and Company Advocates. She graduated top of her law class at Makerere University, the class of 2007/11. She was the first Ugandan to be admitted to the University of Cambridge, for the specialized Masters of Corporate law. She was on the board of First Insurance Company, Delight Uganda Limited and some of the General Machinery Ltd subsidiaries. She was ranked by the New Vision Top 40 under 40 inspirational women in 2017.
